Had our first 2013 walk from Thames Valley Park to Sonning Lock: normally this is our daily dog walk but the flooding and mud has stopped this since December.

Congratulations to whoever (EA??) did all the cutting back of saplings/shrubs/overgrowth all along that section. The bank side is very open now and will be lovely once the sun is out.

.........so nice selection of olde soft drink bottles/coke cans, Mcdonalds wrappers all tangled up with AsDA plastic bags now proudly on display one assumes ?

Boat owners. Get off your arses and out of your boats. Collect some litter. Take a bin bag and clear up for 30 minutes.

You don't have to and we can agree the people who leave the litter are scum pigs. But just get on with it.

Drove back from Maidstone today, doubt there was a single verge on the journey back that was not covered in rubbish 100% of it dumped by car drivers, what disgusting country we live in,is there nothing we will not defile :(
Basically drinks bottles and fast food wrappers,it is only when you slow down at junctions however that you notice the millions of cigarette butts. What is it with smokers that they have to chuck their fags out of the window even when on the move surely thats what ash trays were for.

Far from it: with the ongoing fast flows, most of that is now proudly on display further down-stream.

In this area its mostly John Lewis/Waitrose bags, if you don't mind.
