Something to do for us retired folk?

Two days a week volunteer Border Control, two days a week volunteer lock keeper leaves three for everything else.
Looking forward to retirement :encouragement:

It is probably just a method of giving existing Harbour Masters and so forth a reporting route direct to BF, certainly in the interim. By making the Harbour Master of say, Southworld, a volunteer Boarder Officer gives the HO free eyes and ears, and some authority on their behalf, to those already on the ground in some official capacity.

A couple of days preventing Thames boaters from causing chaos in locks on sunny summer Sundays would leave loads of time to practice standing on sea walls at 01.30 on December mornings, knowing the sun will not be appearing much before 08.00. ! :)
and as all esturary boaters kno the wind normally goes NE in late September and remains there for six months unless it changes and blows from the North for bit !
