Something SWMBO said, which I don't understand

"perhaps sometimes it would be nice to do Fionaish things instead of Georgish things"

you are in trouble, remember:

Every Man needs to know his place and that place is in the wrong!

so go sailing and be damed! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Re: Something SWMBO said, which I don\'t understand

Make sure you really understand what she means by that.

One chap said when his wife finally got him to the alter after years of struggling " I insist I still have 6 sailing weekend with the boys even after we are married. New wife replied " Thats fine now we are married I insist on sex at 8pm every Friday and Saturday night - whether you are there or not!"

Re: Something SWMBO said, which I don\'t understand

I have no concept of what this thread is about. Can someone explain why doing Finnish things is so bad?
We went to the George only the other weekend, so Georgish things seem good too. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Re: Something SWMBO said, which I don\'t understand

Fionaish sounds gaelic to me - so probably means drinking guinness.

Georgish sounds like a pub - so translated...

Next weekend can we go to the pub and drink guinness

You've got yourself a treash, there mate.

So true...I think I'd rather antifoul your boat too..

Thats very good of you, can I bank that one 'till next year? /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

[/ QUOTE ]

Naturally.
Of course we may have to involve beer or wine in the proceedings...

I believe rampant rabbits (whatever they are) are cheap /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Re: Something SWMBO said, which I don\'t understand

Normally my cue to put the old listening trumpet to my ear and shout, "Eh? What's that you say? Do funny things instead of girly things you say? Sorry love, run out of those special pills..... keep some on the boat though, so just as well we're on the boat this weekend... we can do it on the boat!" /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: Something SWMBO said, which I don\'t understand

I think a word of warning is needed here.....

If Fionaish things involve going to craft fairs and she does so unaccompanied, beware the return, bearing gifts.... such as little crafty accessories for the boat (including macrame winch handle warmers)

[ QUOTE ]

If you do get dragged along to a craft fair, find the most attractive stall holder there (female) and spend all the time talking to her.
Your other half will not like this and Fionaish things will be off the menu for you my lad.

[/ QUOTE ]

The problem with this approach is that some of the Fiona-and-Georgish things that you like the most will be off the menu because some of your favourite Georgeish bits may well be "off" too. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Re: Something SWMBO said, which I don\'t understand

I suspect that if she is not called Fiona you are in trouble

And If you are not called George you are in very bad trouble.

Difficult to see a good side to a comment like that.

Re: Something SWMBO said, which I don\'t understand

You are in deep poo poo if you didnt understand that statement!

If I were you I would start looking for a crash helmet and flak jacket!

Re: Something SWMBO said, which I don\'t understand

I've solved the problem. Take a Cross-Stitch kit and some some watercolours on board. Then you can anchor and do some Fionaish things.

I don't know if anyone could translate the following for me. It's something SWMBO said to me as we were getting up this morning. The conversation was about our plans for next weekend and the fact that she wont be coming sailing on the saturday because she has a craft fair.

Any ideas anyone?

Re: Something SWMBO said, which I don\'t understand

Even if you can decode the message, it won't do you any good. This is the architypal "lose-lose" situation.

My good lady left early to demonstrate basket-making in a replica roundhouse at a "heritage" weekend. I walked the dog, did the family shopping (found a really good pair of sailing gloves and a Dan buoy light at Lidl) and traipsed over to the roundhouse in the expectation that I would bank some credit.

No such luck. "Did you bring my wurzle-thripster?" Puzzled expression. "Didn't you get my texts?" Mumble excuse that phone has to be permanently on charge on account of shorting caused by, er, immersion in sea water. "Bloody boat, again!" Implication being that Georgish things are spoiling my attempts at Fionaish things. May as well have gone to the boat.

Re: Something SWMBO said, which I don\'t understand

Thank Goodness I'm not called George and Lady Lakesailor is not called Fiona.

Praise Be!
