I cannot find the thread; the search facility is…

I wanted to say that I would consider HellyHansen and GuyCotton and Decathalon, and Douglas Gill way before I considered HenriLLoyd (also bought out Musto iirc, but that is dated info).

HenriLloyd produce good looking gear, but not as functional as others I have suggested imho.

Find a place and try on the gear for comfort and then ask sailors again for actual functionality and longevity perhaps…

All assuming the OP (about a week ago?) even finds this Mumbai jumbo.

This might be it?

Pre- or post-bankruptcy? Agree with trying on for fit.

I have some of their older kit; the re-launch appeared fashion-centric so I hadn't paid much further attention.

Thank you.

Yes that was the post, but the OP has asked about current performance, so I am only qualified to speak about their performance in the past.

I did not know bankruptcy had occurred. Is that why there was a merger with Musto (quite a few years ago iirc)?

Ah, let's see... (clickety-click)

Looks like Helly Hansen bought Musto in 2017, Canadian Tire bought Helly Hansen in 2018, and just this year Kontoor Brands (a spin-off of VF) has bought Helly Hansen.

Thanks.

What a lot of board meetings that must have required.

I was only aware of one takeover.

Does anyone know if these organisations still operate independently? ie do they still have independent design and R&D facilities, assuming manufacturing is already out sourced.
Or are we going get a limited choice of kit, just branded Musto or Helly Hanse?
At even higher prices.

I have compared against the brands you mention. Also the Henri Lloyd style that I linked to has a lot of functionality, a lot more than some other brands.

Anyway, I have not decided yet. The good thing about distance selling in the UK is that I can try at home and return if not suitable within 2 weeks.
