I have had a disaster of a mechanical nature in that my engine has spilt all its oil into the boat. This done while charging the batteries.

The3 cabin and cockpit floor have become like an ice ring and is very dangerous.

I have diverted to Bret to effect repairs and a clean up and will re enter the challenge after completing the operation.

I am about three days sailing from Brest at present speed.

There will be no more updates till entry to Brest.

Thanks for the mention, but all we were doing was following his progress on Google Earth as he's a mate (Alan of PipeDream), anyway, here's how the two are looking at the moment. Hope he gets cleaned up and on the way again safely.

Apologies - made a slight error in the address for Ron.

Ron's mailasail still shows him firmly attached to Plymouth, but I expect we'll have an update soon.

Poor old Jacinta. Mike had problems last time. It'll be good to see him finish this one. Jacinta is a super little boat, and certainly one of the oldest.

The beauty of Jester, of course, is that there are no huge pressures from sponsors to push on regardless. You can stop and start as often as you like. It's all about seamanship, which is why it is challenge, and not a race.
