Seem to be quite a few of us within say a 20/30 min drive of Windsor and wondered whether anyone would be interested in some kind of informal evening pub meet next year??

Perhaps a bit like the London boys in that if you are there you are there.....but no formalities .

Any interest?

Excellent idea!!

Best not make it the pub where I fell asleep while standing up and promptly fell over. /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif

Absolutely!!

....and the fact that I hadn't done a stroke of it for the previous 12 months hasn't got anything to do with it. It must just have been the thought of work was causing a huge surge in the gravitational pull of my bum. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Re: What date have you in mind? N.M.

Just thought post Christmas/New Year and pre better weather times so have no real ideas save for a weekday evening in Feb. Just struck me that there are quite a few on here who live within 45 mins or so of each other and Windsor area looks fairly central.

The response on here and some PMs etc is encouraging so please feel free to kick things off with a date....

My thoughts were just a drop in pub evening for a couple of drinks and perhaps it could even develop into a regularish thing if it works - second Wednesday of the month type thing but initially it would be nice to meet up with a crowd of familiar and hopefully some new faces to continue our favourite discussions.

Its amazing how quickly non boaty mates's eyes tend to glaze over.....

Any comments or ideas appreciated

Count me in too - if the date is suitable. Brendan - I think you're just up the road from me, aren't you? Fancy a lift?

Funnily enough, Nick has just been organising. so should have a date soon.
Yes, not far from you, though likely I'll just drive straight from work

I should be able to research a venue (tough job but someone's gotta do it) and post a date next week ..... unless anyone has any suggestions in the meantime.

Middish Feb seems favorite thus far

Think the plan is to make it a Wednesday evening after work

I think thats the plan so that it can be informal and hassle free as possible

Watch this space for date and venue announcement........

It could take a lot longer. Nick is trying out every pub in Berkshire personally in order to choose a suitable venue. It's tough work, but someone has to do it
