Lovely weekend - nice to get out - needed to refuel and stupidly and I mean stupidly put the soltron dose into the water tank rather than the fuel tank!!!

The effect on the crew was remarkable - they all fendered twice as fast and reckon they will live 20% longer :)

However, besides flushing like hell time and time again - is there any magic way for getting Soltron out of the water?

I added about 100ml to 750 litres of water.

i would get the stuf direct out of the tank via the inspection hatch as soon as poss, praps siphon into the bige to use the pumps and them mop up the dregs. Don't use the taps at all (or don't usem any more). You shd be able to wipe the tank throug hte inspection tanks but be careful not to use anything that falls apart like bog paper - praps the blue industril paper would wipe the gunk off the walls. Then flush through and through with water, praps with that milton stuff.

The prob is the taste, not the toxicity i think. I have have drunk loads of diesel and petrol, and it never did me any harm-rm-rm rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrm pop bang.

Shit, thats bad. I use Soltron (in the fuel tank!) and I find the odour is very pervasive and tends to stick to your hands despite washing so I guess tcm is dead right to advise not to use any parts of the domestic system to flush through. Hopefully, Depsol will have some kind of snake oil antidote that he can sell you but otherwise might be worth giving Lee Sanitation a call (+44 (0) 1295 770000) who specialise in all sorts of marine sanitation probs
