Solar reflective film for port lights

Thanks for the contributions about moving from grey deck paint to white or off white to reduce below deck heat in the Med.
A suggestion arising was to fit solar reflective film on the window glass.
We want to do this but to be sure we get something really effective. ( lots of stuff on the market now where you just cant trust the advert)
Suggestions will be most welcome

If you have a pilothouse with large areas of glazing then some sun protection makes sense. Most people out here in the Caribbean use external mounted phifertex. It's very good at stoping heat but you can see out. Small windows are normally not so bad. Just close the curtains.
We use a self adhesive film on some of our hatches to keep the heat out and protect the hatch from scratches. It's cheap enough on ebay. you can still see out
