Solar panel controller

I also have the Photonic Universe badged version of this PWM one. Bought off eBay.

Works well. I have two engines each with a smallish starter battery and 3 massive house batteries.

I have bridged the two starter batteries and feed them 20% of the output with the other 80% going to the already paralleled house batteries. A 40w panel keeps everything charged when the boat is idle.

During the winter when the boat is off the water I will parallel both my batteries and trickle charge both my batteries from my solar panel via my PMW controller.

I bought this little thinghie http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Solar-Cha...60684563165?pt=UK_Gadgets&hash=item53fa79aadd for my solar panel and installed it yesterday. However I was too quick to place the order because immediately after there was a discussion here on more sophisticated units for little more money.Could someone please point me in the right direction please?I'd like a decent regulator for two batteries. The solar panel is a 50W one and there are two 85AH batteries.
Once I get it I'll offer this one to anybody who wants it.

This is one I purchased, works very well, it makes some comparisons to its competitors.

I've asked this question before but I'm still not convinced. Why can't I use two simple controllers on a single panel, each connected to one battery?
