Solar panel connectors

I installed solar panels last summer. These came with the generic MC4 connectors - nice and easy to fit.

I put the panels below over winter and the mc4 cables have totally corroded and need replacement. At only 8 months old, this doesn't bode well.....

Is there a connector better suited to this job than these? I'm certain i want to put the panels below each winter - soldered hard wired isn't appropriate here.

Otherwise ill wrap new mc4's in self amalgamating tape and hope for the best...

Cut the cables off and replace with better quality cable and connectors. 12V planet sell cable and this is worth a read about connectors.
