Any recommendations for a stainless fabricator in the Portsmouth/Hamshire area?

We've one quote for a pushpit arch to take two solar panels and it seems steep at over 2 grand plus VAT. I called another fabricator today and they basically said I need to bring the boat to them at Swanwick as if they have to travel to take measurements, fit it etc it could double the costs.

Any suggestions welcome.

Try Fluid Fabrication Ltd in the Sanderson centre, Gosport. I had excellent service from them at a very reasonable price. They apparently do a lot of work for various large South coast boat builders, making pushpits, pullpits and arches etc. so they have the experience and expertise.
Usual caveats apply, just a satisfied customer

Thx Brian I'll give them a call

Try Dave Goodwin at Marine Stainless Fabrications - tel 01329 841114. He's done some excellent work for me and i very reasonable.

They have only done bits for me but I have found them excellent but I have seen other top class stainless work (pulpits, pushpits and bathing platforms) by Solent Welding and Fabrications at Shogen House, Davis Way at Fareham 01329 823535. Local boat clubs use them extensively which means I think that their work is very competitively priced.

I have just spent the last couple of months sourcing exactly the same job and I have asked Mr Stainless from Ipswich (www.mrstainless.co.uk) to do it for me. He has been well recommended and has given me a very good price.

Not based there but did travel to Southampton on another job.

We'll be looking to get something similar made up within the next year. Just wondering how you got on?
Who did you go with and if you don't mind, how much did it cost in the end?
Need to work out how much to budget for this!
