Plan ahead they said (when I read the instructions a bit later on)!

I've installed a PV panel, using an Epever MPPT controller which i located in a convenient spot below in the saloon. So convenient that even in daytime I now find I cannot actually read the display without a light!

Ah-ha! I think. I can wire a small LED into the 'load' terminal of the controller and then the 'enter' button is used to turn it on and off as needed. (basically the next best thing to a backlit display, and I wasn't using the load terminals anyway)

BUT when i tried this and all seemed to be working OK I discovered that when night fell the status of the load reverses (if it is on it goes off, if it is off it goes on) and same again at sunrise.

The manual is less than helpful.

Anybody cracked this?

Why use the load terminals

Why not wire the led to the battery connection via a small push button switch ?
