Soft Shackles are very handy and over the years I have used them a lot. This particular type of soft shackle is my favourite because of its simplicity to make and effectiveness.

Very nice design

I use spliced dyneema soft shackles for all kinds of applications on board. They are easy and quick to make, but not as easy and quick as yours. So certainly worth considering where the strength of dyneema is not needed -- which is a significant percentage of applications.

We use a number of those self tied ones. I heat shrink the ends, and use an admiralty stopper rather than just a figure 8.

An ashley stopper is a nice square sided stopper for this type of application.
