SoF Travel 2021 catch22

I think that any travel advisory, which is what most all countries are on if not on the corridor list, essentially invalidates most insurance. Another example of our government doing damage to its citizens. There is nothing wrong with advising people that we need to quarantine on the way back. that would be fine and incidentally leaves us as individuals to choose whether we wish to travel and then endure the quarantine post this. However adding the travel advisory basically screws us or their own subjects. As always no consideration at all.
Our high risk travel insurance was designed for areas/ countries where there is an advisory - generally aimed at people working in war zones etc :

Just gave Saga a call & they will cover me on the boat & Covid19. I stand corrected ?

However (& as Rachel said "that just a fancy but" for Friends fans) they will do 90 day trips but with a max in a policy year of 120 days for the multi trip policy.

That won't work ?

Nice difference, as ever detailed wording is all in such situations. My broker seemed to be clear that the current advice invalidates new trips. They did cover me earlier in the year when I was in France when lockdown 1 happened.

It would be interesting to check the actual policy wording and see whether he's right, or whether it's just an easy and assumed kneejerk response from him.

If you do, let us know, I'd be interested. Mine was very clear indeed (Axa insurance).

This is the wording from the general exclusions section:

"21 Travelling to a country where the Foreign and Commonwealth Office have advised against all but essential travel"

Pretty clear I'd say
