Hello maties,

Pegasus will be in SoF as of 9 Jun and we are wondering if there are anchoring restrictions at the 2 locations above?

We are out there from Sat so interested too. Im looking for nice easy places to venture to and from.

Looking at iNavx, here are lots (LOTS) of submarine cables too.

I need a good 5 meters water due to Pegasus having a longo one:D

Virtually no restrictions. Nicest anchorage is N side of Porquerolles, called on this forum "red dot bay". There is a fantastic beach to the E of the marina, and a nice enough anchorage w of the marina, both on N side of island. Marina is ok, nothing special, and you mostly pick up a white buoy rather than tie up to a quay. Fuel is crazy price and freshwater supply is very limited

MRC, try to time your visit with calm weather westbound and while you're there, then a mistral for your return to Antibes :-)

Also there is a nice little lunchstop anchorage 1/2 way from Antibes to the Porq islands, called baie des douaniers or something, turquoise sandy bottom, 43deg10.4'N, 6deg38.5'E

when approaching Porquerolles, the number of anchored boats will indicate the anchor zones,
last weekend there were almost as many boats as in high season summer. :o

north of island "Porquerolle" is almost completely anchor zone,
the beach most to the east (on north side) is known on here as Red Dot Bay :)

then there is a nice cove (well sheltered) on the east side of the island "port Cros", the non anchor zone here is indicated with boy's.
other parts of Port Cros might be forbidden (natural parc, I don't know for sure)

North side of Island "Levant" is military zone, no acces

makes sense to visit the village "Porquerolle",(Itallian style) and take a brochure at the capitainery, I have one, but its on the boat, not on hand now.
its even possible to go there with the dingy when anchored in Red dot bay, but the marina is worth a overnight stay aswell.

when you're around, depending on wind direction,
you might visit other nice bay's, along the coast.
North of Ford de Bregancon , known on here as gold dot bay ;)
(near village Cabasson)

Or also very nice;
north west of half Island Giens
more sheltered and more quite

Red Dot Bay is C1 on this chartlet

We found that the little anchorage at C2 was really good as well - Cap de (or Fort de) Bregancon

I believe it's the French equivalent of Chequers.

There are a few ,more so around Port Cros , best bet pop into a Captainerie either one P or Pc .Here they have a weather proof. A 4 chart marking the restricted areas .
As mentioned if wind gets up " surf" back with it on the stern to the Esterel Mountains then it goes calm , back to Antibes .

Great info. I'll be getting some sort of cruising guide once there.

You guys are tops!.... in spite what other raggies say about you:D:D

Port Cros is our favourite, some nice cosy bars/cafes on the beach next to the small port.

This is red dot bay I think, or may be next one along, but v nice either way
