To help answer a frequently asked question about berth costs, here is a link to the 2017 prices for annual and daily berth costs in BSM.

There hasn't been a price rise in 3 years for annual berths, but the daily rate has been creeping up.

Waiting lists vary and you can apply to join the waiting list via the port website.

I'm off today for a week and the weather is forecast to be 20-23 degrees, F2-3, seas calm to slight. Not bad for the first week of November.

Weather absolutely cracking down here today - just had an outdoor lunch in Antibes, it's still t-shirt weather. Fab.

Very helpful. Thanks. After 10 years boating in and around the Solent i sold my boat last year. I had much fun over the decade but became fed up with an expensive hobby that is so weather dependent.
Around July time this year, with some warm sunny weather at last , i began to think about buying a boat. Mid September with the nights drawing in / temps dropping etc my doubts returned. I know a lot of forumites enjoy their winter boating in the UK, but for me I only wish to go boating in warm sunny weather.
So, maybe keeping a 7m-8m Merry Fisher in the S of F or San Carles in Spain is the way forward. With cheap flights to Nice and Barcelona , and me happily retired, travel time would not be a problem.

er.

After a beautiful day and a balmy almost November evening we are settling down to an evening in our boat in the S.O.F.
Good restaurants pression beer and a picturesque port. The météo is good, not a drop of wind predicted might spend a couple of nights on the hook, perhaps la baie de Cavalières or maybe the îles de Porquerolles.

Are the prices in the list plus tax?

Thanks

Thanks macanderson. Those annual prices are somewhat punchy compared with Antibes.

I'm back in London now but the weekend weather in SofF was wonderful. T shirt and shorts weather the whole time, and some people swimming at the beaches. Not much wind. Picturesque view because the first snow is now visible on the southern alps

It was wonderful. We are still down and were out today. Still people on beaches and the odd person swimming. Probably 20+ boats at St Jean today for the All Saints holiday.

It was worth posting the berthing fees as it's a normal question that is asked and someone might use the search function.

Hi Guys any ideas on cost and if you can get into Antibes please as its much large and looks a better bet for me.
Also how strict on the length as we are 17 meters and just wonder if we can get into 16 meter berth as cheaper on the tariff?
Thanks

We are 17m and have a 15m berth in Antibes (I don't think there are any 16m berths) I can't remember the annual rental cost. Berth availability is all managed by the port, not the berth "owners", and they are in great demand.

Antibes berths are 15x5 then 23 x 6. You'll get 17m into a 15x5 if you are ok on beam (you are, with a Sq58/60) and if you catch them on a good day. On a bad day they will put you into a 23x6. With the new port director and all round new management it has suddenly got much tighter. If for example you were to buy a 15x5 intending to put a 17m on it they will probably say no, currently.

As regards "much large", the berths for your size boat in BSM are tight and you need to be a good driver - the fairways are narrow. Antibes is easier. but if you are confident about difficult manoeuvres then both ports are fine. Or course BSM is still a beautiful location, as is Antibes, and both are same distance from airport, approximately. I think Antibes has a nocer hinterland in the form of Antibes old town, which is nicer than BSM town, but that's a fine point and a first world "problem". Good luck finding a berth
