Sod\'s Law of the Sea (again)

Following a flurry of excitement on this forum some months back, I recently tried to purchase a copy from the sources suggested, but they were sold out - no surprise there.

Similarly, Amazon had no available copies but accepted a request to find one - I then thought nothing more of it. Lo and behold, 2 weeks later I received an e-mail to say they had found one and its en route to me - actually from the US ! The book was only £4.90, postage £2.95 (ish) and it turned up yesterday - virtually brand new.

The whole process took a month so no good for Christmas, but it did work and I'm well chuffed.

Others may wish to give it a try.

meanwhile, perhaps foolishly....

I ignored my own advice and loaned my (third) copy...

....but I know where it is, Whiskerstay!

Au contraire...

So do I - currently aboard Mirelle, if memory serves, along with the excellent Mr Caulder. I don't think we brought them back with us for the rainy launch dash back to the DYC...

For those who haven't yet read Sod's Law, I would particularly recommend the chapter regarding the penning of an erotic novel involving seventeen nuns...

...and I'm not joking.

Re: Sod\'s Law of the Sea (again)

We asked Marine Bookshop at Warsash if they could get us a 2ndhand copy and a few months later they phoned to say they'd got one for £5.

So now there's one on the boat and one at home.

Strange how after being written in the 50s/50s so much still seems to apply. Proabably cos so many are still sailing the same boats.

Grovelling apology

You are absolutely right; I'd put it back in the bookshelf upside down.

Section on Yacht Brokers also recommended.
