Sodding Typical

Second week in royal London hospital after a small relapse /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Last time lasted a year but with any luck this should only be a few weeks.
Typical, boat all ready & I go & blow a gasket. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

MoodySabre's reference to "We Didn't Mean to go to Sea" reminds me that Ipswich's most excellent Eastern Angles will be touring East Anglia with a specially written play of the book this summer.

Those who saw their "Beyond the Breakers" about a Norfolk lifeboat crew a couple of years ago certainly won't want to miss out on this, and it should be great for the kids too.

I understand that they hope to launch the play in a (presumably big) tent at the Ipswich Wet Dock in early July, and naturally we hope to get Nancy Blackett (a.k.a. The Goblin) moored there in the background. Nancy is heading for Falmouth in April, and will briefly form part of a Ransome exhibition at the National Maritime museum there as well as fulfilling other duties en route.

Anyway, sorry to go so far off thread - a happy, warm, & dry Easter to all!

Mate! - Pete said you'd got all the support boats launched in the snow... and laid the race marks. That's above and beyond in anyone's book. I bet you were frozen??

Went down to Stargazer for probably the final time on Thursday (sale proceeds should clear the bank this week). Gave her a pat and told her to look after her new owners.

The gloom was lifted a little by the thought of not having to spend the weekend working on the boat in conditions that would make a polar bear roll over and go back to bed....

Made provisional arrangements for 2 weeks sailing in the Baltic in June.. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Well done John, hope you enjoy the sailing in the Baltic, I have always wanted to do that, but Lynn doesnt do Cold.

Congrats, sort of, on selling the boat so quickly, credit to you.

Hope we will bump into you somewhere in the future.

Squeezed the boat into a shed to work on it. Literally. The shed door was about 1/2 and inch too low to fit the boat in. Even with the keel scrapping along the ground, and the mainhatch removed, the hatch slides slide under teh lintel, lifted it up a touch and then popped back down after the boat went past. At least she'll be dry with the current weekend forecast.
