sod the no booze policy... Sat outside the Spiniker bar on Calshot Spit having a break from polishing the boat, enviously watching the mobo's head out in to the Solent... What a gloriously sunny day! One month to go and I'll be out there too but got a feeling I've missed an opporunity today for some serious fun.

hope those of you who hav managed to get out, made the most of the weather and sea state

hi G.....if it makes you feel any better, i will be out there 2wks today !!!!!....(subject to the weather).......... would you like me to txt how much fun it is ?????? !!!!!!!!........ ....... runs for cover!!

Agreed. Rafiki goes back in on the 20th March. Much to do before then though, with weeks tiking by.

She had her new canopy fitted yesterday, looks fantastic, and gives us more versatility. Will post some pis when I get a few mins.

Ah but one fine day does not a summer make.

Last Saturday sailing Chichester to Cowes - beating into 40kts plus driving rain. Felt like nails being hammered into my face.
Last Sunday Cowes back to Chichester - Sunny but damm cold, we needed the bacon and sausage butties served up from below. No lask of offers to wash up in the warm.

Incidentally Cowes Yacht Haven toilets and showers being refurb'd. The replacement Porta cabin facilities not very good, so good job the overnight fee at winter's rates was less than £30

Spent all day under no 2 sons polo replacing gear linkage because the numpty at the local garage tried to tell me it needed a gearbox :mad::mad::mad:
Funny that its now fixed with just a cable :) . Wish there was a tripadvisor for garages .So chin up Gary you are not alone . My theory is that all diy / boat jobs must be finished by easter as the last few years seem to have provided good weather early in the year , ( fingers crossed eh Steve ).

Unless you live in Botswana, Australia or Argentina, or somewhere nearby, it isn't summer; it's winter. Quite clearly February is a winter month, not summer. Poetic licence may allow an abnormally warm late February day to be describes a "spring-like", but under no circumstances would it be termed a "summer's day".

Brill, back in on the 6th with the following weekend on the boat. You'll arrive just in time to help me polish the top sides Steve!! :)

All depends on how you approach life, some people are positive and like to look on the bright side of life. I enjoyed the title of this thread cause the weather wasn't particularly nice here today, nice to think it was summer like somewhere else.

Nothing to do with how you approach life. If you say it's dark when the sun's shining you're blind. If you say it's quiet at a Leftfield concert, you're already deaf. If you say it's summer in the depth of winter, you're confused and wrong.

and if you write sentences such as this, you lack imagination.. you're wrong (at least in my mind).. it was definitely summer out there this weekend:p

It was great in the Bristol Channel.

Just to make Gary feel a little sick.
