Cabin Sole Boards to day.
all sanded ( well those i bought home ) i am going to give Ronseal Diamond Satin a go.

But 'only' £27 for a whole litre. Don't forget you only use it for the final couple of coats and a little goes a long way.

All my sole panels are GRP or teak but I have just done a floor at home with Ronseal Diamond satin and it looks very good. I've no idea how it would react to being frequently wet, or how slippy it would be when wet - what do Ronseal say about it?

In the instructions it said sand the wood first with not finer than 120 grit, presumably to give it a good key.

BTW I paid £26.99 for 2.5 litres which was enough for 4 coats on a 35 sq m floor.

I've just been creating a dust storm in the workshop finishing off a new 'nacel' for the engine panel out of scrap mahogany. I have laid out a variety of bits (not the boards) on the bench for varnishing this afternoon as it gets warmer. Still haven't bought the finish for the baords - can't make up my mind.

I used Ronseal DH Satin on my cabin sole a couple of years ago and it has lasted well and is not too slippy when wet.
