so who is on-board and hiding from the wind

Classic Regatta on the Orwell this weekend. Yesterday very few modern yots out in the gusty conditions but a terrific display by the beautiful fleet of earlier craft. No holds barred terrific racing, full sail carried by several and a few kites, thanks people, really good to see that these boats are still used to the full. Congrats to all competitors and SYH for organising. (can I have a discount for saying that? )

Fantastic photo's!!

I bottled out of a X-Channel, but did go Portsmouth to Littlehampton on Saturday. Superb sail in decent wind and waves, but wouldn't have wanted to be sailing into it all night to go to Cherbourg. Think we might have spotted a dolphin coming back today.

We got a round of applause from the people lining the wall at Littlehampton when we got safely past the white water. :D

Got out to the boat in Portland Harbour around 10:30 in relatively calm conditions, but after a coffee the wind was touching 25 - 30 kts (max 35 kts in the afternoon) and we were stuck on the boat as the tender would have been swamped going back. The high wind alarm did not stop going off until around 2pm in the morning, but had a nice sail up to the cliff fall near Durdle Door and back this morning :-)

on a small boat the bedroom is the kitchen, study, living room so the bedding has to be put away each morning

so no escape from the sleeping bag

Pah.

Kindred Spirit also needed the bunk packing away each morning, but that never stopped me using a sheet and duvet. I just used to roll the whole lot up and tuck it in front of the mast post.
