Planning a quick hop over to Fecamp, CI or environs on Tuesday. Cannot leave before -2hr HW SHM Tuesday.

I have four days with new boat, No.1 son (strong crew), <1.6m draft long fin (happy to dry agin a wall) and 6kt comfortable cruise (independent of weather.)

Is anything interesting scheduled anywhere nearby? Anywhere closed? W.H.Y?

If Fecamp is on your list, then the much nicer St Valery en Caux is a must-see. If you don't know it, it is a charming small town with an interesting and obvious wartime history, decent shops and eateries and pleasant cliff walks. Entrance around HW is not difficult.

Dives-Cabourg is another interesting place as an alternative to Honfleur. The entrance is a bit wiggly, but again, ok near HW, but the gated marina is a bit shallow in places.

Currently sat inside St Valery waiting for the bridge keeper to turn up to let us out at 02:30 as discussed with them yesterday.

I have probably woken every boat in the harbour by jilling about in the basin, I have work on Saturday, the bridge keepers' lights are out and it is now 02:54...

Deeply annoyed of Shoreham.

He's probably an air traffic controller in his spare time.
