A few months ago I made the difficult decision to sell Harlequin, but after no interest and the broker being a bit crap I have changed my mind and decided to keep her for the moment (unless I get an offer I can't refuse /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif) and get her moved (Swansea is 4.5 hours drive from my house).

So on the 3rd of July she will be departing Swansea and arriving at Burnham Yacht Harbour on the river Crouch on the 4th July.

I would just like to say thanks to Gludy, for introducing me to boating and allowing SWMBO to upchuck her berry fruits breakfast all down the side of Drumbeat.

Thanks to Chris for taking us out into Swansea and getting us drunk, and thanks to SteveRow for showing us his equipement!

Steve
PS. If anyone has an east coast Navionics cart going cheap - let me know.

Best of luck in your new home.
At least you had an honest introduction from me - SWWMBO heaving, ten foot swell, spray over the top - it was difficult to arrange all that but you still went ahead and bought a boat!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Nah.. when we got to Ilfracombe, ChrisChevey hung off the side of the boat with a hose and washed it off before a new red stripe developed.

I did quite enjoy it. SWMBO enjoyed it as well until she felt ill. She may get better with more practice, but for 9 months last year she wasn't allowed to take any seasickness pills which restricted us quite a lot.

We will be doing a bit more river cruising on the crouch for a while until my 6 month old son is older. I hope as he grows up to teach him some sea fishing as well.

To be honest - I liked Swansea as a marina, but hated the long lock closure which always seemed to happen midday springs when the weather was nice. (It always seemed to be crap weather on neaps). Which meant that we either had to be out for 6 hours or just a short time in the evening... At least at Burnham we can get out at any time and we are only about an hour from the sea (at Harlequins speed).

I'll have to get the rib sorted and we could just pop across (needs the outboard servicing & new rowlocks sticking on).
