You can only count each place once. Two marinas in same place only counts as one. No you cant count each mooring buoy you've been attatched to. You can count rivers but not include every blummin river side stop off, only different towns. Only overnight stops count. You can go back all through your life if you want. I got to 55 then remembered some more so maybe 60. Now just remembered 25 hols on Norfork broads so a bit more!!

Aw come on Haydn, you didn't say that. I haven't been anywhere in MY boat yet. /forums/images/icons/frown.gif

Aberdeen was in a Shell-owned converted ferry to the Brent 'A' (not a harbour) which was commissioned to overcome the problem of fog stopping crew transfers. Was canned when they couldn't land the chopper due to waves......or fog.

Ancona was the first time I ever sailed in a Raggie. One Italian, 2 Belgians and myself. The Italian was the only one who could sail but was blind and only spoke Italian, the Belgians only spoke frog, and I had a smidgen of Italian and definitely no frog. It made for a very interesting experience. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Bergen was in a semi-submersible Flotel. I was in charge of getting 350 moaning 'Bears' back to the beach. Unfortunately there was a Telex strike (remember them) and no one knew that we were coming. The Harbour Master opened his curtains in the morning to find this huge semi-sub in his harbour and about gave him a heart attack. Chaos ensued.

All the others were on a 72' motor yacht that a friend bought. I crewed it from Falmouth and mucked about it in the Solent for a few years. Had holidays on it in Port Grimaud (forgot that one), Palma (sacked skipper and hired another one) and crewed it back from Puerto Banus to Lymington.

While on the exotics, I could add Burnham-on-Crouch racing Dragons and Etchells with my mates.

Not all exactly what you meant, but there! /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

What about motor sailing from Kerkira, Corfu to Bari. Motored all the way 'coz Queen Zog's treasure was hidden in the mainsail and didn't want to disturb bird's nest. Forgot about that one too.

Re: does it count if not called hlb?

er whadya mean "it doesn't count unless in your own motorboat"? on entry to a port yerd have an engine on, no? Unless of course it was a dinghy and you didn't want those who had been in sailboats with engines, or others who had tyried loads of boats or been on charter holidays to win a harbour-counting competition.

Normal rules of driving into ports in own or someone elses boat I make about 93.

Re: does it count if not called hlb?

Ok then. Rag boats included. So I got to about 60 but not included Ionians which must be about another ten. Then theres Lock Lomond in the V8 American thingy wot I had. Say 3. Then Windermere. Clow Bridge and Holigworth lake Reservior with My Ospray. Morcambe and Fleetwood with the old little speed boat.
St Tropez in a flat bottomed hire thingy. Swamped by Virgin Chalenger. Then all of Norfok Broads which has to count about ten. Banjal in Gambia via Cat hired from hotel. Except some dont count cos did not stay all night on the Resorvior!!
So about 80 or 94 dependent on how strict the rules are enforced!!
