Over 20C and a sunny weekend yet virtually nothing moving on the upper Mudway.
Overnighted aboard at club Friday night.
Bit windy but pleasant enough 8am start on journey up to Allington Lock on Saturday morning .
Day spent checking back of eyelids in Maidstone town centre with quick trip to Lidle to check tools section, then back down to park outside The Malta Inn for bit of peace and quiet.
Doubt we saw 2 or three boats on the move over entire weekend and the only boat going through lock was us.
Meal in The Malta was chain restaurant fodder at its most ordinary.....Grim.
Glorious run back down to Rochester in warm sunshine on Sunday morning.
Where was everybody.:)

It was sad to see how extraordinarily quiet the Thames was. The odd local boat out for a sleaze and a cup of slurp. An occasional Narrowboat liveaboard sniffing out a new berth and a very rare hire boat valiantly defying the weather.

We went to Henley on Saturday afternoon and the river was deserted. Came back yesterday with a NB for company.
Nice to be able to moor wherever I want.

Long may it continue, although I know it won't.

Did wonder if you were aboard. Only other sign of life on entire trip was a hand being frantically waved out of a window of the big Squadron moored up at Elmhaven..

I'm laid up with pnuemonia, so I've missed over a fortnight of boating already. I really do miss the old girl, even for a quick trip to Kingston or a tinker with the engine or electrics. No season for me, only the river flow dictates how much fun I can have.
