I have a symmetrical spinnaker which unfortunately I use very rarely, probably 2-3 times a year during a club race. I would love to be able to use it more often, for example when cruising with my wife and kids (so basically the wife could help a little bit). Could a snuffer (sock) be a solution? Sorry if this is a silly question but since I mostly find information and videos on the web for using a snuffer with asymmetrical spinnakers, do they work well with symmetrical too? Anybody with a link on how it is used with a symmetrical spinnaker (just cannot understand how to handle the pole during pulling up and down the sock)?
Thanks

Yes, snuffers are great when short handed or even single handed as they allow you to control things much better. I race single handed and use mine with just an autopilot to help!
