I'm after a bilge / lifting keel 4 berth weekender, preferably with an inboard and like the look (and cost) of a Snapdragon 23. I'm after all information on their sailing tendancies (weather healm, leeway, stiffness, seakeeping etc) as I cannot locate a boat report on them. Are they good boats?. Any and all advice much appreciated.
Thanks

They are good boats. I learnt to sail in my fathers one. They sail well for their size but would be considered lacking in accomodation by todays standards. This is relative, we went away most weekends and on 2 week holidays as a family of 4 without any problems. Build quality is very good due I suspect to GRP being fairly new around this time (early/mid '60s) and builders not cutting corners with layup. There is a Snapdragon/Mirage association but I don't have the details.
If the one you are looking at is called White Gull and you don't want it please let me know.

I have a Snapdragon 747 (updated 24) a good weekender and strongly built.
You should be aware that these are not racewinners but will look after you reasonably well.
We don`t talk about leeway, if it worries you don`t buy a bilge keel Snapdragon! The keels are moulded in, ease of maintenance, takes the ground well but the keels are too vertical so she needs to be sailed upright for min. leeway, otherwise a good boat for coastal sailing and she will keep you dry in a blow.

Good luck
