Snapdragon 23 - Deck Thickness

Evening folks,

A quick question if I may.

I need to install a round bolt / eye through the deck on my Snapdragon, between the mast and the forward hatch. It feels pretty sturdy there.
Does anyone have any ideas on the approx thickness of the deck that I should encounter here?

I really want to pick up a suitable bolt before my next drive down to the boat (it's quite a way), hence i've not drilled the deck yet.

buy a longer thread & cut to suit.

Thanks, but stainless can be a pain to cut.. (Grinds ok but getting access to power at the sailing club is a bit like getting access to planet Jupiter!)
I also don't want to buy a huge round bolt / eye if a modest one will do. Was going to take a punt at 80mm or is that overkill?

s/s is easy to cut

Blimey - I have no idea what the answer is, but would be *amazed* if it was more than 1 or at most 2 cm's.. I'm interested in the answer though as I want to do the same on my Hurley 20 soon...

Look at that bad boy. I'm sure something like that would fit my deck fine.

That said, I wouldn't doubt that my deck is at least a couple of inches thick around the mast area.
