I am going to make my own Tonneau cover and need to fix snap fastners to my wind screen surround on my boat. The surround is 1 and 1/8th of an inch wide so the press snap windshield clips that you can buy at 7/8th and 3/4 inch will not work see attached pics of these.
I think therefore my only option is to use the snap studs with the 10 mm screw and drill and screw fix to my windscreen surround. This worries me a little as when I drill I don't want to hit the glass windscreen material but don't know how far it goes into the screen surround.
Does anyone know if the 'Plastic glass' will crack if I were to catch the edge inside the surround with a drill
