Please excuse me if this is a stupid question, but I hope someone will know the answer. I want to put snap davits on my Sunfury but the bathing platform is kind of curved. Will the snap davits still be effective given that fact, or do I need to mount them on some kind of block or something. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I think you could get away with them toe'd out with the curve of the after edge of a bathing platform provided the ends where they clip to the dinghy match the position of the fittings on the dinghy.

Having said that they will look a lot better if they are straight. I used a combination of rubber and stainless washers of different thicknesses to make mine come out straight from a curved platform edge, or some kind of block would be good too.

It is possible to purchase extended arm davits if the bathing platform is curved too much!

Just looked on Pete's site and sen your pics - can see the snap davits working - did you get the extended arm ones? By the way, your boat looks in superb condition!

No, just the standard ones
hint...
have to do the job when boats in the water. Float dingy round to transom and mark position of loops on tubes. take it home ad glue it.
Then just drill through swim platform and bolt thru using decent washers on the underside.

Just as a thought, do you have a dingy???
If not, consider what you buy.
I hd a 2,6 m one which was great but so wide that it stuck up above the transome and acted as a parachute...... seriously about 4kts off top speed also was quite heavy and dragged the arse down.
Looked everywher for a narrow one and eded up with a Bombard AX2 with aerodeck. This fits perfectly and is light to carry up beaches.
Its the only one i could find that was narrow.
BTW dont bother trying to talk to Avon (the dealers) , pointedly ignored me at LIBS & NEC, so i bought from elsewhere.
Should be going down this weekend so if u wnt any photos pse PM me
