Bllody hell Ken, if you think I'd mount Anne anywhere, never mind in public view up a mast, you're even more twisted than Ah kent!! Perhaps thats why all these old boats have figure heads, did they depict the Anne Robinsons of the day in order to scare off the purple poopers? Does yours have one?

Assuming this is only audible at anchor, then I have always understood the noise to be the sound of shells and/or shingle being washed around on the gentle surge/swell in those harbours.

The queiter the anchorage the louder it is.

It rarely rains for longer than four hours........

I was in Ireland for a week last month and it only rained twice,,once for 4 days and once for 3 days.

I only come here because occasionally people talk about boating<s>
