SMS Plymouth

I have driven past their premesis in Plymouth many times, it looks like they have given some of their floorspace to yacht parts but I'm sorry I cant comment on the company apart from the fact I have een them around for a few years. What were you considering in buying?

Thanks both.

I need to replace the propshaft seal this winter and I need a decent engineer to do the job.
I don't want a gorilla with a hammer!

I asked them to do some major work a couple of years ago. Unfortunately they were overloaded and subcontracted the work out to someone whose work I had significant issues with. The manager at SMS resolved all my complaints without question (even though I suspect they ended up at best breaking even on that job), was hugely apologetic and no longer uses that subcontractor. I've subsequently had work done by their lead engineer, Gary, who I would recommend without hesitation. In summary: my experience is that they respect customer service, have at least one excellent engineer, and I would use them again.

+ me as well, I have used them and been quite happy with them. They did the first service on my VP 2003, while I watched, so have done them myself since! Advice re prop shaft seal (PSS) which was resolved with no work done, replaced engine mounts and water pump seal. IMO their bills are reasonable.

No connection etc etc.
