<he sounds like a reformed smoker>. Yes one of the worst. Only got to light up a ciggie and he's coughing and spluttering and can be a real pain.
 
Giving up smoking

Good game see how many patches you can keep on body at same time.

Clear patches as sold i France lot stickier and re-adhere after sticking to shower cubicle.

Great buzz when giving up is to smoke with patch...see purple elephants and pink fairies like in the 70s!!!

My arse, seem to recall that I had to smoke all my own and then tcms cigars just to overcome the smell of your fags at last xmas do!

You call going away for several days with a pain in the arse as a jolly, what would you do for fun?? <BG>

When I gave up smoking the first time I was a raggie. I stuck out for several months but during a particularly stressful run back up the Solent with someone who smoked like a chimney I succumbed to a moment of weakness and smoked the rest of his fags without even asking!
Last time I gave up, I didnt have a boat at all and Ive been weed free for over 10years now so consider myself cured.
So Colin me old mate (tho your recent 'coming out' tendencies on another thread are getting me a bit bothered !?) as you are currently boatless I would say there couldnt be a better time to get off the coffin nails for good. How did I do it...? I really cant tell you exceopt one day for some unexplained reason I suddenly decided I should jack them in so I did.

Pray for light airs and then light up to find out the wind direction - used to do this racing dingies and had a considerable advantage over nons.

Excuuuuse me! I think I managed to abide by those rules (although was probly not paralytically pished until midnight). And you forgot the other rule for male guests: Thou shalt not shag the hired help (unless she absolutely insists, and it doesn't impinge on your regular duties).
 
Raggies and Smoking - the truth...

Firstly, you are leaving at 10.00am on Saturday and returning at 18.00pm Sunday and he is planning to stay at sea continually ? Where the hell are you going. Forget the smoking, this does not exactly sound like a bundle of laughs in the first place.

Secondly. as an ex delivery skipper for rag boats, the first thing we did was made sure nobody attempted to give up anything particularly on a long passage. This included smoking, cross dressing etc

We all smoked like chimneys. Lots of raggies smoke and normally marlboro reds .

The only rule on a rag boat is make sure you take a Zippo , never smoke doen below and make sure you are sitting to Leeward of everyone (this means downwind)

I hope you didn't mind me popping onto your site briefly to give the raggie view

His boat his rules bottom line. If he wants to be like that it is tough on you and not wonderfully considerate but some people are very serious about being anti smoking

I am fortunate that i dont need fags if i am in a non smoking environment and have not had a drink so i would have to forego the booze too.

Try the patches. They give you really vivid dreams. i had this one about the spice girls. swmbo elbowed me awake just before baby spice... anyway

I tried the patches once, and the chewing gum. But the combination of patches cigs and gum was making me sick so had to give them up!!

u may think that you are being considerate, but i have noticed every single smoker drags a trail of that smell around, and even when they havent lit up, they still leave that room stinking.
Why pay to kill yourself?
