Got my e/s o/board back from service and was connecting the remotes and electric up.
There is a 6 or 7 pin 'foolproof connector' which is in an awkward place and without getting my torch not very visible.
I thought I could connect it by 'feel' and thought I had identified the odd protusions that need to marry together.
I got up to turn the ignition on and smoke was coming out of the morse type control which caused me to flap I can tell you.
Dismantled the control and all the wires seemed fine, plenty of grease nearby, perhaps that's what caused the smoke, but noticed a relay looking little black box in there. Anyway I reassembled it and connected the foolproof connection like a sane person ( I didn't think it was possible to do it wrong; it had not gone together much at all and I didn't force it, but it does need a degree of pushing)
Guess what, it won't operate the starter motor, the warning buzzer comes on correctly indicating low oil pressure, but the next position on the key start is dead.
Any ideas what I've done and what is needed to correct it please?
