My Volvo TAMD41P has begun emitting lots of grey smoke. It has been recently serviced with new Volvo oil, filters, air filter etc, and oil and coolant levels are correct. Water temperature is 85c and oil pressure just under 90psi (all normal). It starts instantly and runs perfectly apart from the smoke. I'm baffled. Any bright ideas?

My boat has the same engines and each has done 1000hrs. Have asked the same question as you many times. It seems they are prone to smoking. I have tried additives and changed filters, fuel, etc. Only thing I haven't done is have the injectors changed yet. If you find a cure please post it as I'm sure there are many out there, in dare I say, the same boat.

Regards

Neil

I have re-checked everything after a couple of hours running and have found that coolant level has dropped. Not much, perhaps a cupfull.
