Smelly loo

Your best bet is to fit new pipe to both inlet and outlet “The best pipe is H.T. SAINIPOMP/EXTRA ODOUR SHIELD 5 YEAR WARRANTTY BUTYL WP & Bar (100psi) ISO 8099 2000-7 and was worth every penny.”
I was given a very good tip at the beginning of this season and have had no toilet smells since then;
Before leaving the boat turn off inlet valve, pump out as much water as you can, pour one kettle full of fresh water into the bowl, place one tablet or one spoon full of (sorry can not remember the name, but mothers use it to sterilize baby’s bottles etc) into the bowl, leave to dissolve, couple of minutes, pump bowl out, leaving just a small amount in bowl, turn off outlet valve and leave boat.
Come aboard to a fresh smelling loo every time.

If you read the previous posts you will see several forumites putting forward the fact that what you do may work for you in your circumstances but this is not the cause for the main smelly loo issues.
Yours may be something as horrid as a smell coming into the bowl from the outlet side (if you have little water left in) or just a residual odour in the loo itself.
The bottom (sorry!) line of all this is that water comes from the outside via the inlet pipe and into your loo and then out through the outlet pipe to your holding tank or the outside world.
If you clean your loo and the outlet side you can still end up with a stink from the inlet side, which is why the suggestions are being made.

Her suggested solution was to take water from your washbasin outlet and T it into the loo inlet.

[/ QUOTE ]I can confirm that i've seen this done twice now, and it has worked very well indeed.

Ditto, did mine last winter and it works. Didn't take long to do, all it needs now is a bit of fresh water flushed through when leaving boat.
