Smelly deck shoes?

I have no idea why this thread has any life left in it.
The smell is caused by bacteria. Kill the bacteria and the smell goes.
More than one person (including me) has said ‘soak them in mild bleach’ (which is what Milton is) and the problem is solved. Some of the other suggested attempts to kill the bacteria may work but bleach is very cheap and available everywhere. Just a capful in the bucket as you’re not trying to bleach the colour out of the shoes.
