Hi! We had a bad leak in our port cabin caused by stanchion leaks (you know older boat, too much pressure on the stanchions over the years…). We had the leaks repaired by the yard and we also had them redo the damaged plywood on the wall in the cabin to match the rest of the esthetics. There is a strong adhesive smell lingering in that cabin (kind of like rubber). I was hoping that time would take care of that, but it’s been 6 months now and the smell is still very strong especially when it’s hot out. Any thoughts??

Thank you for any advice.

Sell tickets for an overnight stay in the cabin and you'll soon be able to buy a new yacht :giggle:.

You need to go back to the yard and complain, they need to know about the problem so they can avoid such issues in the future. Be diplomatic saying that you did expected the fumes to quickly dissipate but obviously there is still a problem. Obviously after 6 months your position is questionable but rework may be the only remedy.
