SMC Micro Mariner VHF user controls.

I have been given an old Micro Mariner hand held VHF, which has failed it's swimmimg lessons, and which I now wish to restore to full working order.
Before I start I wish to know what the control buttons 'CHM' 'PCS' & 'D/E' do and how do I respond to the flashing command 'save'. Does anyone know who made these sets and if there any information available on the internet as my searches have all drawn a blank?
