Pass me the bucket before you close the lid, and then you trace our steps back to the Indian restaurant to look for the boat keys......

Filming for the new Diet Coke adverts has started, as you can see they have decided to use the older, more mature models this time!!!!

Re: Small RIB\'s

I had one for a year, it did the job fine and didn't leak or break. Good fun with an 8hp 2 stroke. My only gripe was the plastic seat was too wide so it kept popping out of the retaining straps. Its possible they gave me the seat off a 3.1 m by mistake. I made a teak one in the end which was nicer anyway.

Re: Small RIB\'s

When we had our V42 we bought a Valiant D270 rib, its fitted sell into the garage as the tubes are slightly smaller than the Avon rover, also the vee is not as deep therefore it fitted well. The Avon lite is along the similar lines but we found at the time a lot more expensive. We have a Yamaha 8hp 2 stoke which makes it fly with one person it & pretty good with 2 in her, the only slight disadvantage was that we used to take off the engine to get her to fit in the garage.
with your 4hp may be you will be albe to leave engine on

Re: Small RIB\'s

I agree the Valliants are excellent. Had a couple of them. Howsabout you deflate the front air chamber in the RIB when you stow it. This shortens the RIB and reduces the height, so you can fit a bigger one. Only takes a minute to inflate one chamber with an electric woojamaflip before launching.

This method (deflating the bow) is used as "standard" to fit an Avon 320DL jet RIB into a Camargue 55

Re: Small RIB\'s

I had the 3.1m Zodiac version.

Excellent tender, my only gripe was that the back 2/3rds of the hull was virtually flat. It planed easily but had a tendancy to slam in even very small chop. I dont remember any issues with slow speed handling though.

Re: Small RIB\'s

Can't find any pics. I got the plastic end pieces from IBS, and just bought a piece of Iroko (like teak, but cheaper) from a timber merchant, sanded it up then screwed the end pieces on to the right length.
