Folks i'm struggling to find a small 240-270 rib with a jockey console, google brings up some nice ones but they're all over europe, used or new is fine.. any ideas greatly appreciated.. ?

Jockey console is the steering console/seat. Like riding a horse with a leg either side ?

Not that small and to heavy for davits, ideally it needs to be a zodiac/ribeye/valiant with a 10hp 2 stroke, as usual you see loads when your not after one.

I recently bought a Talamex 2.9m Silverline rib with an aluminium hull. Talamex offer a few options on consoles also. Very happy with my purchase and the rib is very light and well thought out. I fitted a Tohatsu 9.8hp 2 stroke secondhand outboard but no console, just filler steered. The petrol tank fits in the bow locker and I ran the fuel hose under the false floor to the engine.
The whole combo weights 90kg with a full tank of petrol.

Would Excel fit the bill? From their options list it looks like the 270 can be fitted with a jockey console. Might be worth a call.

Had a valiant d300 with a 10hp 2 stroke and console with remotes. It was on the davits of the princess. Was an amazing thing. Would do just over 20 mph and even pull a child on an inflatable. Was on the heavy side for even the best of whittal davits with a safety margin though. Now have a brig 2.7m. Very good but expensive and because of its short hull and small surface area in the water...struggles to plain with 2 up and an 8hp. The same engine makes a 3.5m rib plane with 2 up.

I've got just a basic single skin aluminium ZAR Mini 10 and am pleased with it - the ones with a double skin floor and anchor locker are even nicer.
I have no association with Boatsmart other than Dan supplied and shipped a boat to Spain for me, and the service was good (and affordable).

Interesting - anyone know if you can retro fit the jockey seat ?
Ive a Fairline branded Valiant 2.7 and with a 8hp OB theres a 30 pre-planning tilt so need to site forward.
Needs to fit in T40 garage which would be an issue but not a design breaker as i know it has been done before as a fully custom build
