cant find suitable wet wear sailing wellies for size 13 & 2 ages 7 & 9, without paying £35 a pair ( which i've no intention of paying as they'll be grown out of quickly)...normal wellies too lumpy... any good ideas ...please
If sailing abroad I always take my neoprene diving boots for wet weather sailing..... lightweight and very grippy soles.
Don't know what they are called but there is a very similar type of beach footwear now being sold which I believe is based on surfboard footwear...... cheap and probably has good street cred for 7 & 9 year olds /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I'm pretty sure that childrens sizes of Aigle sailing boots are available in France (seen them in Cherbourg Carrefour) and the adult versions are around £20 per pair so kids ones should be no more. We use the adult ones which we bought at Guy Cotten's factory shop in Concarneau and they are good non-slip and comfortable.
We just use normal kids wellies, although most of the time they are in trainers. If the weather is bad enough to justify wellies, they are usually safely down below!
The Chandlers at Largs Marina do some cheap kid's sailing wellies. I have a pair of yellow wellies from there that my daughter has now outgrown. pm me and I will send you the details, and if they are any good to you they are yours for the price of postage.
