In preparation for being able to leave the boat on a mooring next year, rather than trailing, I need to get those UV strips sewn on to the stays'l and the jib, so they can live on their furlers.

It's not a demanding sort of job, so am looking for a good VFM sailmaker on the East Coast. Any personal recommendations?

My Suggestion

Hi I would recomend Blue Marine at Battlesbridge. They do all our small sail repairs and have made a spray hood in the past, Work very good and quick in quieter times but can get very busy. Have his mobile no if you PM I'll send it to you.:)

Both sides of the Thames estuary

Wilkinson Sails have always delivered well on price, both for minor repair work and canvas work. I've never used them for new sails though.

They have one loft in Faversham, run by Cindy, the proprietor, and another in Burnham run by Mick, so fairly easy to get to whichever side of the Thames you are.

Cindy is an occasional forumite.

As I live in Burnham, I go to Mick for my stuff, and I've never been disappointed with the result nor alarmed at the cost.
