Hurley 22 is a cracking boat and feels very stable in a rough weather due to its massive ballast.
Well within budget including all the necessary gear with basic examples starting from £500.

So, I have few potential options for the boats.
The Hebridean wind vane looks really interesting (thanks Tranona).
My biggest concern... the unknown cost. I'd love to do this, and some forumites have been very generous in their offers. But we (all) know from experience, you can very easily spend the purchase price of a boat again on making it what you want.
But I love the idea of the Jester Challenge type mentality; simple and functional.
What to do....
