Tried one or two, for the boat in my 'sea trials' thread.
'Too old, over fifty years'.
'Sorry, what make is it?'
'Survey?'
'Can you send a picture?'
Can't be that difficult. Ideas, hints?
 
Looking for comprehensive insurance on an old boat can be an expensive or impossible business as you’ve found out. My Hurley 18 is a case in point: her value to replace is a few hundred pounds. To get comprehensive insurance would almost certainly require a survey which would probably cost more than the boat is worth: and that’s before the cost of the policy itself.
So like Mark, I just have third party cover which costs a bit short of £100 a year for some £3m cover as insisted upon by the marina.
