Hi guys,

I'm new to the forum and I've just started a small collection of classic car hood ornaments . I bought the below ornament from France and I'm having real trouble finding anything similar. I think it could be fitted on the bow of a boat, something similar to a figurehead. It has a thread screw hole on the bottom of the feet and a 3 hole fitting in the head/beak area. The mascot is cast bronze, nickel plated, is based on a Stork/ Crane bird design and looks 1930's in style. It's approximately 8" long on the base and 5" wide.

Have you seen anything similar to this before?

Any help would be grately appreciated! (pictures below)

TopCat has it. Def a H-S Hood Ornament. Some of their engines were used in boats ( One was up for sale a year ago in Brittany) so there is the vague possibility that it could have been fitted on a boat, but far more likely on a car.

Reminiscent of perhaps, but not nearly as refined as the original. It is not Hispano-Suiza.
Notice the grace of the original ornament.....
