Off with his head!

"Their first task was filling the hole with 6,500 tonnes of non-corrosive concrete as ballast." :)

Hope they can find a crane big enough to lift 6500 tons.

I just passed one of his slumboats, in Kingston opposite the Minima Yacht Club, tied up on the Royal Palace moorings. It looks like he's found an alternative to council and EA owned land and another lengthy case awaits. But surely, as the last court order ruled that he had no right to moor anywhere for free for as long as he wanted, the previous court order should be enforced?

If anyone sees the old skipper of Connaught, would they please tell him that all is forgiven and if he fancies going full steam ahead through Kingston(like he did in the good old days), there's a pint or three waiting for him at the Mill:D

I believe the Cockney Sparrow has taken over the role of the Connaught in this regards (discuss).

Question 1: If the EA - (who - let us remember - physically recovered Trotmans multiple 'vessels' from below and in transit downstream through Teddington Lock) had instead left them to do battle with the elements of the tidal river (and the real teeth and maritime regulations of the downstream authorities) would this problem not be history by now?

Question 2: Why was relocating his vessels back into easily squatted bank areas and locations where he can get more rent near train stations a remotely good idea?

1. It does seem very odd.

2. Very strange.

Its tempting to go for conspiracy theories but its more likely incompetence or possibly some legal wranglings. It did seem a bit ridiculous for the ea to actually prevent the vessels approaching PLA waters. I guess the bit between teddington lock and PLA marker may be an interesting area. Its tidal but not subject to heavy wash from passing vessels so not that bad really. Possibility of a long term settlement appearing.

I wonder if there is any FOI info on all this.
