I got tired of the sludge working its way into the whole fuel system and took a deep breath and cut holes in the sides of my 2 grp tanks , big enough to get a hand in and mopped out all the black rubbish that had accumulated over the years .
it was amazing how much was in both tanks !
I then made grp patches overlapping the edges by 40mm and epoxied them on .
I now have peace of mind knowing they are spotless inside .
The last staw was hacking across the Aegean in the fuel tank locker in a 3 m sea trying to blow out the fuel pipe which had
been blocked by this sludge , a very motivating moment !
