A group of 4/5 boats are trailing to southern France next summer and we are trying to find any info on slipways in the area to launch 23/24 foot boats, preferably not by crane. We would also need car and trailer storage for 2 weeks. Have had no luck tracing book I saw but stupidly never bought in Mayflower Chandlery on the subject called Boat launching in France and Spain. Saw book before thinking about this holiday ! They have now sold it and as it was a secondhand book they were selling they have no stock records of it !
In other pilot boats other members of our party have, Menton looks the best place to use slipway.Has anyone used this slipway for launching and what are storage facilities like there ?
Or are there any better places along this coast.?
Any info would be appreciated
Thank a lot.

You might want to post here as well. Lots of members have trailed to France, but not sure how many of them use the forums

We launched at Saint Cypyrien. The slip way is OK to launch up to a 26ft boat but you have to put the stern in and then drive it off. There is no need to book, just turn up and launch. The slip way is at the south of the marina where the workshops and marina sales/chandleries are. You can also stay on visitors beths for approx 15euros a night stern on to the main quay but you will require a 50ft rope as the berths are for boats up to 50ft.

There is loads of waste land around to abandon cars and boats on, however there is controlled car parking where for 50 euros a week they are kept safe for you. We took this option.

Feel free to ask more details,

regards

Paul

Thanks for info. Is this place listed as Saint Cyr les Lesques between Marseille and Toulon,as I cannot find Saint Cypyrien on my maps!
How have you managed when booking the storage for cars and trailers in advance if like me you cannot speak anything other than very rusty school days French, or do you just turn up and hope they have spaces? we would like to book if poss as there are a few of us and we need a reasonable amount of storage space

You need to log in with your username and password before you can post (big box at very top right should show your username, not guest - I've often typed a long reply, only to discover I wasn't logged in! Then go to the help wanted forum and at top right hit 'new topic' button.
