These 3 words are the nub of an Australian awareness campaign to stop people from getting skin cancer from sunlight (UV). Slip and shirt on, slop a load of suncream on and slap a hat on your head.

Sound advice that I have ignored for 47 years - until yesterday, when I was discharged from hospital after having a sizeable malignant melanoma removed from my back and a skin graft taken from my right leg.

So - chaps... learn from my mistakes (I have made enough of them) and cover up a bit, 'cos the sunlight is doubled as it reflects from the water. I'm not expecting a sympathy vote because I don't desrve one - its just a piece of advice from a friend, that's all.

Hope everything is ok now Dave !
You are absolutely correct about reflected sunlight off water, we are allways amazed by the speed that we catch the sun when were boating. Next week were off too Fuertaventura on our Jollies so I will take note of your advice and get the Mrs to give me a good slip and slop. Oohh er mrs.

In the words of the <A target="_blank" HREF=http://homepage.powerup.com.au/~songhurs/every.htm>song</A>:

Ladies and Gentlemen of the class of '97, Wear sunscreen
If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it.

Wish you all the best Dave.
